March randomness

Lately I've been enjoying random Spotify playlists, either "indie", "accoustic" or stuff like that
One song I discovered that way and that really stayed with me:
Lewis del Mar - Memories
I simply like the beat.

I am quite excited to finally try a "real" camp-in music festival during Memorial Day weekend...  I am going to Sasquatch! in the Gorge in Washington state with a few friends from work.
The line-up is heavy with EDM/DJ bands so I've been checking some of it out and surprisingly I really got into Major Lazer
Major Lazer - Get free

This previous song is with a singer from the band Dirty Projectors which I saw perform an awesome show back in Oakland a few years back.  It was one of those nights where I just took myself out to a concert.  Their musical genre is quite unique.
Here's a weird video from them:
Dirty Projectors - About to die

Another discovery from my Sasquatch! research that I'm looking forward to see perform is Grimes
Grimes - Flesh without blood
I love the melody of this song, it's perfectly bittersweet to me.  "I don't see the light I saw in you before"

Finally let's end with memories from 2001.  I listened to this song on repeat during one weekend visiting my Mom back then (was it the only CD in the house?) so it is forever associated with memories of that time...  I actually like the lyrics and the contrast of the voices.
Garou et Celine Dion - Sous le vent
By the way, Celine is back in Vegas... anyone interested? :-)

How to start 2016

I started 2016 with a new musical obsession: Kiiara.
This one is quite interesting but really I've liked all the songs I've been able to listen to so far:
Kiiara - Gold
Also I love this remix:
Kiiara - Feels (Felix Cartal remix)

And these days I find myself listening again to Jason Isbell.  I discovered him a few years back on my favorite NPR show "Fresh Air".  You can listen to the interview here:

His latest album has several beautiful songs with touching lyrics.  I especially like this one:
Jason Isbell - How to forget
I saw him live in a short performance in Portland and his voice and his presence are really special.
