New Year's Eve Concert in San Francisco (on the 30th!!!)

Last Saturday, Blythe and I went to this great concert: Gnarls Barkley and The Flaming Lips were playing at the Civic Auditorium.
When we got there I had the good suprise to hear a voice that I already knew: Cat Power was opening the show. Then Gnarls Barkley came on stage dressed like astronauts and created a very energetic atmosphere.
There were balloons attached to the ceiling and we bet if it was for tonight or tomorrow and I won: the singer of the Flaming Lips said that he didn't care what day it was, tonight was a great New Year's Eve party :-)
The Flaming Lips and Gnarls Barkley even performed "What a wonderful world" together.

Here comes the music:

(No Gnarls Barkley because I think everybody already know)

The Flaming Lips - Yoshimi battles the pink robots (mp3)
One of their most popular song I think. After what seemed like the end of the song they started over and had the crowd sing the chorus two more times.

The Flaming Lips - Do You Realize (mp3)
One of the last song they played. It's about how we need to realize that life is precious and beautiful.

Cat Power - The Moon (mp3)
My favorite song from her latest CD "The Greatest".

Chicago 2006 - The playlist (to be completed)

Here comes the music:

Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (mp3)
The hit of the summer.

Guster - Lightning rod (mp3)
I bought the CD in June and played this song a lot, the first one on the CD and my favorite.

Nelly Furtado and Chris Martin - All Good Things (mp3)
Really nice song that Rob gave me.

Augustana - Boston (wma)
A song that played very often on the radio and that I had on a CD I won at Old Navy and took with me on my trip in Utah

More music:

Sean Lennon - Dead Meat (mp3)
I noticed on msn messenger that my brother was listening to that song so I was curious and listened to it and loved it.

Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars (mp3)
One of my favorite song this past summer. Even if it's been playing so much on the radio I think I can never get sick of it.

Sufjan Stevens - Sister Winter (mp3)
A beautiful "Christmas song" from Sufjan Stevens, one of my favorite songwriter.

The Dresden Dolls - Sing (mp3)
It starts slow and quiet and ends very loud and powerful. Another band I discovered at Lollapalooza.

The Killers - When You Were Young (mp3)
The new hit from the Killers.

The Shins - Phantom Limb (mp3)
My favorite band these days. This comes from their new album. I hope I will go to their show one of these days.

The Decemberists - The Crane Wife 3 (mp3)
The CD I listen to the most in November!

Tokyo Police Club - Citizens Of Tomorrow (mp3)
Heard on the Hype Machine. I'm not a big fan of other songs from this band but that one is nice.

U2 - Window In The Skies (mp3)
And of course the new U2 song. Please note that I'm not a big fan like I used to but still Bono's voice makes me feel feelings.
